{ A Personal Project } – Sequim WA Photographer

One of the many things I learned along the way this year, is the importance of allowing myself time for personal projects.  I got so burned out this year, that I am having to step back and reevaluate some things, and make new commitments to certain policies and work hours.  Some of these things are all common sense to most people, but I tend to be a workaholic, and I learned the hard way this year.   I think it is not only important for me, but also for my clients….because me being burned out doesn’t do them any good either! Life is all about learning, and so I am taking that life lesson and committing to my personal art this coming year!

So yesterday I finally got to do my first shoot in a very long time that was just for me, and fun!  It was a great creative outlet for me, and was nice to just have fun with it and go with whatever I wanted to do with no limitations!    I have to give a HUGE shout out to Juliet Martin, who did all of the hair and makeup styling.  She is AMAZING and I HIGHLY recommend her.  She really was able to create the most amazing look that worked perfectly for everything I had in mind.  I can’t wait to work with her on projects again!

Dear sweet Medea modeled for me.  We knew the weather was going to be bad, and she was still up for it.  I think she was on the verge of hypothermia when we were done, but as you will see, she ROCKED this shoot.  She is a trooper for sure and I love her to death.  She is such a sweet and bubbly girl, and she told me she wasn’t sure about being able to give the looks I was wanting…but we soon found out that being in 15mph winds and freezing temperatures can help anybody look angry! LOL

I am actually going to start with some of the very last shots we took, because they ended up being some of my favorites!

She just can’t help but smile!  In between little moment when she was trying not to laugh!:)  Love it!

And the inspiration that started all of these crazy ideas on my head, the black wings that I LOVE.  Can’t get enough of them. One of my favorite things…although I don’t know why…I just love wings…black especially.   Broke out the lensbaby for these!  Love a tilt shift.

These are so awesome! You have taken lots of photos of my sister in law Olivia, and I just LOVE everything I’ve seen! It makes me want to have another wedding in hopes that you would photograph it! :)

A beautiful series of photos. So great to do personal projects that inspire creativity. Very nice use of the Lensbaby for those wing photos.

Gorgeous Gorgeous images! I can’t pick a favorite, but if I had to pick that first image is amazing! The stylist and the model rocked the looks and you rocked the art!

Tara:
Great work with your MEDEA shoot. The moods are excellent. I know that each pic is a favorite with different people.

You also have revealed that you shoot in the RAW, but I would love to see the close up head shots in color (the eyes have it and to me set the tone), and if possible PS the light reflections. I can even visualize the first head shot with a little mascara run.

Keep up the good work and
Merry Christmas to you and your Family
