I had SOOOO much fun with this shoot this morning. I have so many images I can’t choose, so this is going to be a very large sneak peek. I have been dying to try out these new locations and chairs, and they worked out just as beautifully as I thought they would! As you can see, little miss Vivian has such a fabulous personality, and she was truly a pleasure to work with! This shoot was styled by me, I wanted to make sure the look of Vivians outfits really fit the rural settings we were going for! Since I have a little boy, it is a big treat for me to be able to dress a little girl! I go a little crazy with it, LOL. I love to style shoots for my clients, so please don’t ever hesitate to ask about it! The outfits shown here, as well as the props are all owned by me and may be used for any client! So without further ado, here is a sneak peek from Miss Vivians photoshoot this morning!

If there anything that runs a close second to Wyatt’s love of dinosaurs, it is his love of Daddy’s tools. When I saw this shirt on GAP.com I knew I had to have it and use it for some pics of him playing in the garage, something he LOVES to do any chance he can get. Shhh, just don’t tell daddy what he was doing. He loves to go out and “fix” his bike.

I grabbed this quick shot of Wyatt this morning while he was playing.
I love how the best shots are always so spur of the moment. Gotta love window light!
I can’t wait to get this one printed!

Today Wyatt discovered the point and shoot. LOL He is completely and totally enamoured with it. I decided since it isn’t in too great of shape to let him play with it and carry it around today since it made him so happy. Finally after the afternoon was over I took it back and checked out the contents of the memory card…..It has been a total riot going through all of the shots. It is so funny to see everything from his perspective. We had no clue he was even taking out photo for some. The variety of things He shot shows most of his favorite things….toys, fish, candy, outdoors. I adore them all, in their out of focus, grainy, flashy, fingers over the lens perfection! He now thinks the camera is his though, so it could be an interesting fight when Matthew tries to take it with him when he leaves to get underway.
Check out the little gallery below too see the photographic daily memior of Wyatt! LOL

These image are actually from April, but I have been so busy I hadn’t had a chance to process them until now (told you I would get to them this week Dante’!). When I was in FL visiting friends and family, I got to have some playdate time with my BFF and her daughters. Addison and Wyatt don’t always see eye to eye but still love each other. LOL She tends to air on the girly girl side, and I think she described his dirt loving ways as ”disgusting!” or “gross!”. It was such a beautiful day we played outside in the bright FL sunshine. They had a blast with bubbles and water ……Wyatt was a bit more interested in making sure he covered every square inch of his body in mud and sand and that he could dig up as many bugs as possible.

I just wanted to post for any of my loyal Astoria/NW Oregon clients who would like to have their summer sessions done with me, that I will be in the area for a few days at the end of June, specifically to do shoots for all of you! I have 6 shoot times available, and they are first come first serve! So send me an email at tara@tarastatonphotography.com to get your slot before they are all taken up!
I am also currently running a fabulous summer special for my out of state clients of 15% off of session fees and 10% off of all products!
So a week or so ago I got a lovely package in the mail from my ever thoughtful friend Carole (www.carolemariephotography.com). In the package was a book for Wyatt. He is super obsessed with dinosaurs and this has become his book of choice. He pretty much has it memorized word for word. The other morning, I had told him to go clean up all of his toys out of the living room and decided after about 10 minutes of not hearing any cleaning going on to check on his progress. I found him in my hubby’s chair just like this…..

Then he realized I had the camera……………………………….

Then he very forcefully told me to “put the peechures (thats how he says it, his name for my camera) down!” and “let me wead!”. I was cracking up. Needless to say the toys too a while to be picked up.

We decided to be adventurous yesterday and do some hiking. We chose to do the Spruce R. R. Trail along Lake Crescent first. Geniuses that we are, we did not look at the sign to see how long it was, HAHA. Poor Wyatt only managed to walk about 1.5 miles out of the 8 (yes eight miles with a three year old). He is kind of at the in-between age where He is too heavy to carry for more than a few minutes, but his poor little legs get tired so easily. He was a trooper though. Daddy got a good workout between carrying the backpack and Wyatt all those miles. (Yes I was carrying a backpack and camera too, I am not that lazy! LOL) Although we were all totally zonked by the time we got home last night, it was lots of fun!

I LOVED the way the light came down through the trees onto these ferns. It had such a magical quality it it!

There are lots of beautiful wild flowers and little waterfalls all around the lake.

Wyatt loved his walking stick…until he used it as a cattle prod on his daddy and it got tossed. LOL I thought it was funny, Matthew….not so much.

Of course we can’t stay on a trail….exploring caves and tunnels and rock climbing is a must. You don’t wanna know what we had to climb down on the other side of that rock pile…lets just say my hands are black and blue.

The cute little bridge at the end of our hike!
I learned something new tonight…apparently my dog can fly….haha…ok maybe not really fly, but give him a huge open field and it will make you crack up laughing to see him leaping through it. He literally gets over 4 feet off the ground at times and just soars through the air. He can leap over Wyatt without even getting a good start. I know Matthew is just dying to get him into some dock dog competitions and now I understand why. We went exploring tonight and I found the most beautiful photoshoot location. This field is AMAZING. I can’t wait to get some clients out there….for now Harley volunteered his services as my test subject. Wanna make a lab happy? Let him loose in a field for a few hours. He is now passed out in his bed (not if only Wyatt would follow suit). LOL

All I can think of when I see the shot below is the line from Homeward Bound ” TADA Bat Dog!”. LOL Don’t ask my why I remember that.
Out at Dungeness Spit Park…..Just about 5 minutes down the road from out house. I LOVE IT HERE. Stunning Views.
